Founded in 2019 by Australian-Canadian rapper, singer, songwriter Darren Piper aka Optikz, Grey Wall Sound

is a state of the art recording studio, with industry standard digital audio workstations software, headphones,

plugins, vocal recording booth, extremely high definition, ultra linear, large diaphram condenser microphone,

audio interface, classic pre amp and monitors that all work together to guarantee the highest quality sound.

Located in Guelph, Ontario we provide artists with top tier sound without long commutes to and from Toronto.

Grey Wall Sound is Guelph's premier recording studio lead by rapper, singer, songwriter, studio manager and senior audio engineer Darren Piper "Optikz". With an impressive 26 years of experience in the music industry on both sides of the creative process in recording as an artist and audio engineer he has garnered a very unique wealth of experience and understanding in the artistic and technical sides of music production which sets him apart from most engineers. An honours graduate of the Seneca at York University "Independent Music Production" program, his music has been featured on top 40 radio, Galaxie satelite radio, Much Music, Much Vibe and Much Rap City reaching audiences nationwide.

His commercial music clients include national retailer Mark's, formerly Mark's Work Wearhouse, University of Guelph, Guelph Gryphons, Vegehut Bakery Ltd and Arch. Throughout the course of his career he has worked with some of the biggest names in the music industry including Juno award winning producers Classified and Marcus Kane, GMA Dove award winning artists Manafest and Zamar, Metalworks Studios audio engineers Jeff Crake, Camille Comeau, Chris Crerar and Yanni Caldas and recently Grammy nominated mix engineer Blake Eiseman earning himself a well deserved reputation as one of Guelph and Canada's best.
